Opponents
Absolute Poker is similar to Bodog Life in that the players who come
here are easily beatable. They used to have a player traffic issue,
but with their extensive promotions and a merger with Ultimate Bet,
they've become one of the leading poker rooms for player traffic. Even
with their large numbers, they still manage to have easy opposition.
Recently, there's been talk of a scandal in which a player (or players)
were able to cheat and see the hands of the other players at the tables.
A third party is currently auditing the software to ensure it meets requirements;
thus far, no solid evidence has been given, though their rating has been
devalued as if this is true then it's a serious problem. I'd recommend
playing at Full Tilt Poker until things are settled here.
Game Selection
Absolute Poker has the standard five poker games (Texas Holdem, Omaha,
Omaha Hi/Low, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi/Low), plus they've recently
added Razz and Blackjack. This is more choices than the typical poker
room, and the blackjack can be a really fun passtime while you're waiting
for a tournament to begin. Like most other poker sites, the majority of
their players on are playing Texas Holdem - however, because of their
size, if you're an Omaha or Stud fan, you won't have any problems finding
a game.
Rewards/Bonuses/Jackpots
Their deposit bonuses are where Absolute Poker shines. It offers a whopping
100%, up to $500, on your first deposit. They give this out at a very

Tournaments
Absolute Poker's tournaments are extremely well done. They have about
50 varied tournaments each day, and approximately 50 freerolls. They also
have some fairly large poker tournaments either weekly or monthly. Their
single-table tournaments are just fantastic, but their multi-table tournaments
do leave a little something to be desired as far as availability and variety,
but they’ve been improving gradually. Overall, not as many tournaments
as some other sites, but their winnability is greatly increased.
Customer Support
Regrettably, they don't offer live phone support. However, their email
support is terrific. The responses are very fast, and their team seems
to actually know what they're talking about, which is becoming more
and more rare in the online poker world. The deposits are very fast,
and the options are numerous. Cashing out tends to take a few days.
You won’t
have to jump through many hoops to get your money out. The true test
of their support is coming now in response to allegations that players
were able to cheat; only time will tell us if this poker room is still
the great place it once was.
