Opponents

Bodog Life is another one of those poker rooms where you just can’t imagine why the other players keep throwing their money at you. Since Bodog also offers a sportsbook, casino, and racebook, many of their poker players are people who originally signed up for one of those other services and who are just trying out online poker for the first time. More than that, Bodog has been doing very aggressive advertising during major poker events which has also been attracting the newer players. Their traffic has picked up lately, so now you can find a room full of fish just itching to give you their money all the time.

Game Selection

Bodog Life offers the standard games (Texas Holdem, Omaha and 7 Card Stud in regular and Hi/Lo formats) as well as 5 Card Stud. Their limits range from $.05/$.10 to $30/$60. They especially shine at having great no-limit Holdem traffic, as well as a great selection of low limit Omaha games running at all times. Their 7 Card Stud games used to lag a bit, but they've caught up to the others and it's now very easy to find any type of game at just about any time of the day.

Rewards/Bonuses/Jackpots

Bodog used to offer a flat 10% bonus with no limit. While having a lower percentage, it had the benefit of being available to play with instantly - the only play requirement was for cashing it out. Some people really liked this, but others would rather have a larger bonus and have to earn it by playing hands. Rather than choose one or the other, Bodog has decided to offer both an instant 10% bonus as well as a 110% bonus up to $500. The 110% bonus is earned out at a fair rate, but you only have 30 days to earn it. Still, no other poker room can boast two completely seperate first-time deposit bonuses. They also have a rewards system called Bodog Life Points that can be redeemed for entry into tournaments. This is still a relatively new system, but from what we've seen so far, it offers an excellent incentive to keep playing.

Tournaments

Bodog’s poker tournaments are very solid. They primarily offer terrific guaranteed prize pool tournaments that are of great value to the player. They run freerolls, have tons of multi-table tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $1 to $100, and daily guaranteed tournaments that can be as big as a $12,000 prize pool or higher. In addition, they have daily satellites for their weekly $100,000 guaranteed tournament. The only reason you wouldn’t want to play in these tournaments is that you’ll be making so much money from their ring games, you won’t want to stop.

Customer Support

All that can be said about Bodog’s support is that it’s amazing. It may well be the only online poker room left that still has 24/7 live phone support. This is quite impressive. Their support staff is also very helpful and knowledgeable about things both related to playing poker and also their software. Depositing is quick and easy, and they have some of the fastest cashouts on the web. Their security is also top-notch, since they’ve been a major force in the gambling industry for years.

NOTE: Bodog does not allow Canadian players. If you live in Canada, I'd recommend trying Full Tilt Poker.
