Poker Stars Review
Banking: NETeller, CentralCoin, FirePay, VISA, MasterCard OpponentsGenerally speaking, the people playing at Poker Stars are far more skilled
and much tighter than players at looser sites, such as Bodog Life.
However, largely thanks to WSOP champions Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer,
newer players have been flocking there. Still, that only accounts for
lower-limit games. In the higher limits, you'll find some really great
players who are more than happy to take your money. They aren't unbeatable,
though, but they are significantly better than the average player is.
As far as player traffic goes, Poker Stars is one of the best. Game SelectionPoker Stars only offers the standard 5 (Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Low,
7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi/Low). Their Omaha and 7 Card Stud poker games
aren't as populated as some other sites. That's not to say that you'll
ever be without a game, but you will have lots of trouble finding a good
table for either of those games. Poker Stars really shines with its limits
and amazing software, though. Their limits range from $.02/$.04 all the
way up to $100/$200. As you can tell, this is one of the largest ranges
of limits on any poker site. Rewards/Bonuses/JackpotsPoker Stars now offers a first-time deposit bonus of 100% up to $50.
This is still on the small end for a poker site of this size. However,
they offer occasional re-deposit bonuses, typically 20-25% up to as much
as $600. This is their attempt at good incentive to keep people playing
- it's very effective. They lack any form of jackpots, but they offer
Frequent Player Points (FPP). Using FPP's, you can gain free entry into
tournaments, as well as redeem them for items from their online FPP store. TournamentsThis website offers the best tournaments on the internet. They'll even
have peaks of over 10,000 people just playing in tournaments. They have
more daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tournaments than any other online
poker room. If you enjoy playing in tournaments and honing your skills,
this is a great place to do just that. Their single-table tournaments
are consistently better than most other online poker rooms, and their
multi-table tournaments easily dominate their competition. Customer SupportWhile Poker Stars offers no live support, their email support team is
fairly fast and reliable, usually responding within an hour. Their deposit
and withdrawal options are somewhat limited compared to other large sites.
However, both depositing and withdrawing are easily done, though it seems
to take extra time to withdraw your money. The deposits are virtually
instantaneous, though. Overall, the only thing they lack is live support,
but that isn’t so bad considering everything else. Overall Rating
